Rummu, Estonia, October 30, 2025 - Sungrow, a leading global supplier of photovoltaic inverters and energy storage systems, has delivered its first hybrid solar-plus-storage project in Estonia, marking a significant milestone for the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region. The project, located in Rummu, combines a photovoltaic farm with a 9 MW / 18 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and represents the first installation of its kind in both Estonia and the broader CEE market.
“This project marks a pivotal step in the energy transition for the Baltic region,” said Valentas Janauskas, Country Manager Baltics at Sungrow. “We’re proud to support the shift toward cleaner energy with our advanced technology and grateful for the strong collaboration with our partners, which has been essential in bringing this innovative solution to life.”
The main objective of the project was to improve grid support and operational flexibility by enabling the storage of excess solar energy during the day and its release during periods of high demand.
Technical and Commercial benefits
Sungrow provided its advanced PowerTitan energy storage system, including nine ST2293UX power conversion systems and three SC3450UD-MV medium voltage stations. Additionally, Sungrow delivered 54 SG350HX string inverters, further enhancing the system’s performance and integration. The installed capacity totals 10.35 MW / 20.64 MWh, allowing for effective participation in the energy market, access to local revenue opportunities, and enhanced grid stability.
This hybrid solution offers technical and commercial benefits by making renewable energy generation more stable and predictable while reducing grid dependency and protecting against volatile electricity prices. At the same time, the system enables new business opportunities through energy trading, balancing services, and additional income streams.
The full scope of Sungrow’s delivery included system design, manufacturing, factory testing, on-site commissioning, and local technical support. Thanks to the collaboration with Enery, the system is now fully operational and supports the local energy transition by making renewable generation more flexible, resilient, and economically viable.

The Rummu project highlights Sungrow’s ongoing commitment to growth in Central and Eastern Europe. By combining innovative energy storage technology with a strong local presence, the company supports customers and partners across the region in building a clean and sustainable energy future under its global mission “Clean Power for All”.
